The Otto-Carl-Schulz Foundation Supports Students

Intelligent students with visions for the future and an intuition for innovation and sustainability are seen as resources at our production facility in Germany.

Otto Carl Schulz knew from his own experience how difficult it is to finance a college education. His parents owned a small machine factory in West Prussia. At the time, since he was the second-born this was no advantage to him. He traveled through Europe as a migrating craftsman to earn money and to finance his studies.

In 1944, as the sucessfull owner of the DEPRAG SCHULZ GMBH u.CO., he created the Otto-Carl-Schulz Foundation with a start-up capital of 100,000 Reichsmark. The foundation was designed to help especially intelligent and financially disadvantaged students from Amberg in financing their education.

His son, Dipl. Ing. Carl Schulz expanded the foundation to its current capacity. In 1986, Carl Schulz was awarded The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his social and entrepreneurial engagement.

In the year 1988, he was awarded the citizens-medal by the City of Amberg for his enormous efforts in regards to scholarship assistance. After the passing of Dipl. Ing. Carl Schulz, the 3rd generation of the family supports the tradition of the foundation and considers the continuation of the foundation its legacy.

DEPRAG SCHULZ GMBH u. CO. is proud of the now 68-years of foundation history. The foundation's capital has grown to over 1.2 Million Euro and so far 1,028 students have been able to graduate with the help of the Otto-Carl-Schulz foundation.
